In this video, you will learn insights from Maestro Dunu of the Matsés tribe, who suggests waiting at least three days after receiving Kambó before drinking Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca contains inhibitors, while Kambo activates liver function. This interaction can be taxing on the body if not given enough time to recover, which is why some practitioners recommend spacing out these experiences. Other traditions, like the Yawanawá, use Kambo in different ways. They may use Kambo during Ayahuasca ceremonies to help cleanse the body of heavy energies accumulated through the deep shadow work often encountered with Ayahuasca. This reflects a belief that Kambó can aid in purifying both the physical and energetic bodies. From my perspective, listening to your inner guidance is essential when working with these powerful medicines. While I don’t consider it dangerous to combine Kambo and Ayahuasca occasionally, or to use Kambó beforehand to cleanse the body, it’s crucial to approach these practices mindfully. If your body is healthy, these combinations can offer benefits, but the long term implications, especially with frequent use, are still something unknown and worth to reflect upon. Important Disclaimer: I am not suggesting or providing advice on how you should approach these sacred medicines. The insights shared in this video are meant to offer perspectives and experiences. It’s vital to listen to your body, acknowledge your limitations and trust your intuition when deciding how to engage with Kambó and Ayahuasca. I invite you to join the conversation by sharing your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. How do you approach the use of Kambo and Ayahuasca? Let’s have an open, respectful dialogue about these powerful healing practices.
